We are always in search of the finest powder to ski and the magic of the Canadian Rockies is the power of mother nature and the chance to experience wind, sun, snow and even rain. The interplay of all these forces means an ever-changing and renewing snowpack and changing ski conditions to match. Expect to ski a variety of snow conditions ranging from deep powder to settled hard packed, to that excellent spring snow that turns to "corn".

You don't have to be an extreme skier to have the time of your life with Robson Helimagic. If you are a strong intermediate or advanced skier, you can heli ski.

Are you a snowboarder? Your guide will try to select the most suitable terrain but remember you may need to do some traversing. For your most enjoyment, come as a group of for the best heli boarding experience.

Smaller is better. Our maximum group size is eight people per guide, and two groups per machine. By limiting our numbers we can offer you maximum attention and instruction from your guide and less waiting for the next lift.

CAN YOU SKI WITH YOUR FRIENDS? Although our lead guide makes group selection based upon matched ability, every effort will be made to keep companion skiers together.

We measure heli skiing in vertical meters of actual skiing, literally the change in altitude from the top of a run to the bottom of the run, added up over the duration of your package. This is not the same as vertical lift, which includes the change in elevation from the helipad to the bottom of the runs each day.

Traditional FAT skis $30.00 per day

Wide skis have been developed that are ideal for heliskiing. Called FAT skis they make turning in deep snow easy. Limited numbers are available for rental. Please reserve in advance to ensure availability.

Your safety is our primary concern. By monitoring Valemount weather and precipitation and the ever-changing snow quality, our guides gather information to assist in their run choices. All skiers are trained in the use of avalanche transceivers which are worn at all times when skiing. A helicopter safety briefing serves to keep our skiers safe in and around the helicopter. Your serious attention is important.

YOU ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. By following the instructions of your guide and your pilot, you will contribute to the safety of the entire group. Heliskiing takes you into remote mountain terrain where we have no control over the elements. While we make every effort to minimize the risk through all reasonable efforts, we cannot eliminate the risk.
