As your hosts, instructors and leaders while you ski our guides have years of practical experience and recognized certification in either the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides or its European equivalent, the U.I.A.G.M. They have training in remote mountain skiing, avalanche forecasting and safety, snow quality evaluation, first aid and emergency rescue.

Peter Amann, Lead Guide
Peter is a fully certified Mountain Guide and member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). He is also a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA), and a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association.
Summer Heli Hiking
Using the helicopter to reach the alpine, our guided heli hiking tour takes us into the Selwyn Range and the Rocky Mountain Ranges, just outside the Mt. Robson Provincial Park. Summer Heli Hiking is available from June 30th through September 15th; weather permitting, seven days a week. *To enjoy heli hiking, we recommend you bring the following:
  • footwear such as hiking boots or good walking shoes
  • sunglasses & sunscreen
  • windproof jacket
  • warm sweater
  • hat or toque
  • camera and lots of film
Mountain Magic Hike
(for groups of 3 or more)
Be flown by helicopter from our base to the beautiful alpine where you can enjoy a guided walk with an experienced guide. A picnic lunch is included. The difficulty of the hike is geared to the ability of the group - this is NOT mountain climbing. This is an opportunity to experience the mountains in a way most people never can. Duration of the hike is approximately 5-6 hours depending on the desires of the group.

The Ultra Package
(for groups of 3 or more)
Combine the best of both experiences - a sightseeing trip as well as an alpine walk. Start of from our base for a flight which includes a sightseeing trip of Mt. Robson / Berg Lake before being dropped off in the alpine at the head of the Swift Creek. Walk at your own pace with an experienced, radio-equipped guide. Enjoy a picnic lunch among breathtaking views. As with all of our walks, the difficulty is geared to the ability of the group. Duration of the trip is approximately 5-6 hours depending on the desires of the group.

Berg Lake Drop - 2010
  • Berg Lake landings (Robson Pass) are limited to Mondays and Fridays, and Tuesdays after long weekends. Restrictions apply from May long weekend to September 21st. After this we may land any day of the week.
  • The long weekend landing days are as follows for 2010:
    We cannot land on Monday, August 2nd, we can land on Tuesday, August 3rd.
    We cannot land on Monday, September 6th, we can land on Tuesday, September 7th
  • Landing hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - morning flights begin at 8:30 AM.
  • Cancellation Policy-30 days prior flight date. Last minute cancellations not accepted.
  • Rates for 2009:
    $219.00 plus GST per person - minimum 4 passengers
    There will be no charge for cancellations due to bad weather. Usually waiting an hour or two allows conditions to change. No postponing flights to next day.
  • Consideration is made getting from the trailhead parking lot to the helipad which is 4 km away at Denison Pit. You may drop off your group & all gear at Denison Pit first, and then return your vehicle to the trailhead parking lot. We will shuttle your partyÕs driver from that parking lot back to the helipad free of charge, by prior arrangement. Please be early to allow enough time to complete this shuttle.
  • Restriction of 35 lbs. of gear per person. Pack to reduce bulk, a gear surcharge may be applied to cover additional flying, or some gear might not be allowed.
  • Climbing party reservations must be made directly with Yellowhead Helicopters.
  • Camping spots are available for reservation 3 months in advance through Discover Camping at 1-800-689-9025. If no advance campsites are available, there is a registration/reservation program in place for camping spots through the Mt. Robson VisitorÕs Centre on the afternoon prior to, or the day of the flight.
  • To date, there are no requirements for trail registration for day hikers on the Berg Lake Trail.
  • Reserve with us by phone, fax, or email. A Visa or Mastercard holds spaces with full payment due on flight date.
  • Hike out time is approximately 6 to 8 hours, a distance of 24 km.
